CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

For the treatment of deep wrinkling, severe sun damage and pigmentation problems, the carbon dioxide (CO2) laser is extremely effective. Laser skin resurfacing can be used to treat the entire face or targeted to remove wrinkles around the mouth or eyes.

The laser works by exfoliating layer by layer the damaged skin exposing more youthful skin below. This laser produces the most dramatic results for moderate to severely damaged and aged skin. CO2 laser skin resurfacing is the optimal method to stimulate collagen production, resulting in a visible "tightening" of the skin.

Laser skin resurfacing is a deep treatment that requires a considerable commitment to post-operative care, but the results can be remarkable. Before your procedure, you are invited to a private, complimentary makeup application consultation with our Aesthetic Care Coordinator. We will teach you how to apply makeup to conceal redness during your recovery period. Hand picked by Dr. Schmid for its pure ingredients, our Jane Iredale mineral makeup is not only beautiful and natural looking for everyday use, but also exceptional in camouflaging the symptoms of recovery.

As with any cosmetic procedure, recovery times vary with the extent of treatment, the attention the patient pays to postoperative care and follow-up, and patient's natural genetic healing abilities. Approximate recovery time is ten days to two weeks for general healing. In some cases, redness in the treated areas may persist for up to six months.

If you cannot afford the downtown, Dr. Schmid highly recommends MATRIX LS Fractional CO2 Laser treatments. These treatments are the state-of-the-art option for improving skin texture, tone and increasing the production of collagen to tighten the skin. Dr. Schmid provides this treatment exclusively to his patients, and is one of the first to offer Fractional CO2 Laser treatments in boulder and Denver, CO.
